About Discretiq

Discretiq is a free educational website for people learning discrete mathematics: logic, sets, relations, counting, number theory, graphs, automata and related topics. It combines interactive calculators that show their working with written study guides, so you can check an answer and also understand why it is correct.

Why it exists

Most calculators return a final number and nothing else. That is not much help when you are trying to learn a method or find the step where your own working went wrong. Each tool on this site is designed to display the intermediate steps (truth-table columns, Euclidean-algorithm remainders, shortest-path updates, automaton transitions) and each topic page explains the underlying ideas, common mistakes and worked examples.

What you will find here

  • 22 topic pages, each with a working calculator and a written study guide. Browse them from the home page.
  • A glossary of discrete mathematics terms linked to the relevant tools.
  • A suggested learning path showing a sensible order for the topics.
  • Quizzes and practice problems for registered users. Accounts are free.

How the calculators work

Calculators run deterministic algorithms on our server. They do not guess or generate answers with a language model. Details on how results and written content are checked are in our editorial and accuracy policy.

Who runs the site

Discretiq is an independent educational project created and maintained by its owner. You can reach us at the contact page; we read every message about errors, suggestions and accessibility problems.

How the site is funded

The site is free to use. It is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence on what we write or how the calculators behave, and we do not accept paid placement in our content. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.
